Hello

At New Fellowship, we believe that God wants us to love one another and to fellowship together in that love. In Acts 2:42, Luke describes one of the first of Christ's churches. We hope that this verse applies to us as well: They devoted themselves to apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer".

New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church History

In 1986, a meeting was held at Crosslines Towers, February 8. A group of Christians banded themselves together as a body of baptized believers and organized New Fellowship Baptist Church. Our first prayer meeting was held at the home of Sister Ethel Davis on February 12, with ten people present. Our next prayer service was held at the home of Sister Mary Johnson on February 19. Believing in God and in the ministry of Reverend Vernon DeBose, Jr., we assembled together in prayer and mediation for our first services at Pleasant Green Theater, 814 Minnesota with the purpose of developing Christian character. There were only seventeen members and a few children. Beginning March 2nd, 1986,and each Sunday in March, we met at Friends of Yates then located at 644 Quindaro. Rev. DeBose presented the idea of securing a permanent location for services. His brother, Howard Haskins, an employee of Robert Hughes Realty, mentioned a church located at 1235 Georgia was on the market for sale. It was suggested we look at the building and decide whether we would like to purchase it. The building was in bad shape and needed repairs. The idea was to look at the potential of renovating to look at what it can be and not what it is.
